Gary Neville insists Manchester United are despite their start to the season on the ideal path under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Because their opening day victory over Chelsea, United suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace and were held to pulls at natives and Southampton.
However, Neville – speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast – describes why he thinks his former side would be going in the right path and his former team-mate wants time to take back the club to the top.

There are a whole good deal of players that are developing and attempting to improve themselves, when you’ve got a young team like the one at Manchester United. I think they are likely to find a lot of results such as the ones at Southampton and Wolves where they actually do in the match.
I believed they performed fine against Southampton but they don’t have.
Because of where the club are there is an element of pity out of United fans. There has been seven or six years because although there’s still a history of major success under Sir Alex Ferguson. There’s currently a part of frustration construction, frustration that is actual, that they are not on the perfect path.
I believe because the thing United must do that they are on the right track, they must have a bunch of men and women in that changing area that want to be there.
Forget how talented they are.
Sir Alex Ferguson came down from Aberdeen and that he got rid of some of their players in the group in an attempt.
He was extended a lengthy time to perform it. Think about Norman Whiteside, who was let go. Paul McGrath was let go. They were a few of the players in the group, but he wanted to attempt to change what was happening.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is attempting to play the game.

He’s going to want really strong leadership over the next two or three seasons to be able to have those four or five transfer windows that he wants, not just to really get people in the dressing room all facing the same direction, but to get the quality in that’s needed.

It does take some time. Solskjaer is operating more with a group such as the one Klopp picked up than the one Guardiola at Liverpool. From this point of view that this will be a game at Old Trafford and it’s going to be bothersome occasionally.
There will be results along the way just like Wolves, Southampton and Crystal Palace, but if you see the group a great deal of the fundamentals are right.

For Frank Lampard in Chelsea, I think the Exact Same like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.
We are seeing Lampard attempt to change what’s been a system for the previous 15 years in Chelsea. You study this team now and it has expertise. It’s less know-how also it’s more youth and immaturity around it and with that comes more mistakes and some undesirable results.
Both Ole and Frank are youthful managers but having made these decisions to appoint them doesn’t seem right they’re not likely to go together and rear them with what they’re attempting to do, as they are trying to change the culture in both clubs.
You are likely to have to devote them, if you are attempting to do what they’re doing at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, that will be bringing through players.
That is the big issue for both Chelsea, and Manchester United. They will need leadership, they will have to resist some stress, particularly on social media, and also stand firm. They need to say:”We all know what is being built here, it is correct and we are likely to go with this.”
